SUBBIMATT project held its first General Assembly meeting after nine months of collaborative work, with a two-day meeting held on the 27th and 28th of May in Eibar, Basque Country, Spain, hosted at Tekniker’s facilities. During the meeting, partners presented the progress made in the development of smart formulations and functional coatings, aiming to improve textile performance in terms of adaptability, moisture control, and energy responsiveness, as well as textile intermediates made from renewable sources. Additionally, progress was shared on next-generation technical textiles that integrate innovative features such as self-healing, shape-memory behavior, and smart thermal regulation.
R-NanoLab, is leading WP2 by developing negative thermoresponsive hydrogels, designed for use in breathable textiles, as well as the synthesis of carbon nanotubes to be incorporated into electrospinning formulations, enhancing the energy storage efficiency of triboelectric devices. Beyond its role in materials development, R-NanoLab serves as a link between the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) activities in WP1 and is conducting experimental analyses to assess the release of active substances from the project’s demonstrators using advanced instrumental chemical techniques. The meeting concluded with a tour of Tekniker’s facilities and labs, providing an inspiring close to a collaborative and forward-looking event. Overall, the meeting was productive and reaffirmed the partners’ shared commitment to achieving the goals of the project.
