DOMMINIO project concluded with its Final Workshop on October 9th at the EASN (European Aeronautics Science Network) 14th International Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece. Eight project partners gave presentations related to additive manufacturing and thermoplastic composites, highlighting project results and innovations aimed at transforming the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. The panel showcased new research findings, material innovations, and process developments that push the boundaries of traditional manufacturing techniques.
R-NanoLab’s contributions to the project were presented by Konstantinos Zafeiris, with a presentation titled “Multifunctional FFF Filaments for Sustainable and Smart Thermoplastic Composites.” His presentation included continuous CNT yarns for embedded sensing and anti-icing systems, as well as the disassembly of thermoplastic stiffened panels using localized induction heating.
