Carbo4Power held its final review meeting on the 22nd and 23rd of October Nantes, France, hosted by our project partner IRT Jules Verne. After an extensive 48-month period, a diverse set of technologies has been developed and tested, spanning from new 3R resins for vacuum infusion and ATL/AFP, nanoenhanced formulations for lightning protection and de-icing applications, non-intrusive sensors for structural health monitoring, nano-enabled coatings with diverse functionalities, advanced automated net-shape manufacturing technologies, blade segmentation, de-bonding on demand and repair methodologies, multi-scale modelling and a digital pipeline to facilitate validation of materials and technologies.
The project has successfully scaled and demonstrated the advanced manufacturing of 1:20 scale modular wind turbine blade prototypes and scale 1 and 1:2 truncated tidal turbine blade prototypes, that were assembled and tested to prove and quantify the improved properties and associated environmental and cost benefits. A huge thank you to all Carbo4Power partners for their dedication and collaboration, making this four-year journey a success! Excited to see how these accomplishments will continue driving growth and innovation in the years to come.
