The 2nd EuReComp Open Workshop 2024 was a huge success, held on the 24th of April in Porrino. The workshop covered various topics related to composite recycling, including an EoL Composites Market Analysis, the R6 strategy within EuReComp, and the use of composites and recycling in different sectors, such as aeronautics.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the EuReComp e-learning platform, Composite Recycling Technologies, and Solvolysis Technologies within EuReComp. Moreover they had the chance to network and learn about the latest trends and technologies in composite recycling. Attendees also got to visit AIMEN facilities where they witnessed the LIBS and NDT Labs, as well as the Composite Materials Lab.
Following the workshop, the EuReComp project’s 24-month meeting took place the next day, on the 25th of April, hosted by partner AIMEN Technology Centre. Representatives from 18 partners attended the meeting and discussed the project’s status and latest results.
R-NanoLab’s role within the project, besides the coordination, is handling the recycled carbon fibers through electropolymerization or by applying sizing on their surface. Additionally, solvolysis wastes will be utilized as precursors in a chemical vapor deposition reactor for the production of nanomaterials. Filament extrusion with recycled fibers will also be used to support the production of the demonstrator cases of the project.
Altogether, the 2nd EuReComp Open Workshop 2024 and the subsequent 24-month meeting were incredibly productive and informative. They provided attendees with valuable insights into composite recycling and showcased the exciting progress being made by the EuReComp project.
