A recent addition to R-NanoLab’s project portfolio is the ECOSHIPYARD initiative. The kick-off meeting for the EU project ESY occurred on February 6 and 7 in Athens.
ECOSHIPYARD is a research and innovation project with a primary objective of promoting sustainable shipbuilding practices and material circularity within the European Union. The project focuses on developing solutions to reduce the environmental impact of shipyards, enhance energy efficiency, optimize operations, and address non-operational impacts.
As part of this project, R-NanoLab is collaborating with NTUA’s School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The R-NanoLab team will play a vital role in contributing to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, they will conduct Physicochemical analysis to evaluate the operational environments of shipyards.
