DECOAT Final Meeting
DECOAT Project recently held its 55-Month Progress Meeting on July 11th and 12th, followed by a final review meeting on the 13th at the Panasonic Electric Works Türkiye facilities.
After an extensive 55-month journey, the project has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of two technologies capable of efficiently removing coatings from textiles, automotive parts, and household appliances. This breakthrough allows these coated materials to be recycled multiple times, enabling the remanufacturing of the same parts.
During the final review meeting, R-NanoLab presented Work Package 1, related to Triggerable materials, as well as Task 6.4, which focused on conducting toxicological studies on the materials used in the demo cases.
DECOAT Project’s accomplishments mark a significant milestone in sustainable coating removal. The developed technologies hold immense potential in promoting a circular economy and reducing waste in various industries. The outcomes of this project contribute to a more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient future, revolutionizing manufacturing and recycling processes.
