JEC World Composites 2025

R-NanoLab was once again a part of JEC World Composites. This year, the lab had the opportunity to be featured at the Campus Village alongside other universities and institutes from March 4th to 6th. This provided an excellent platform for the team to connect with students, companies, and organizations in the industry, fostering meaningful discussions on the latest developments and trends in composite materials.

During the event, R-NanoLab’s team made a significant contribution by delivering three pitch presentations showcasing the lab’s ongoing and past projects, as well as its capabilities in composite materials, from manufacturing to recycling. These presentations highlighted work within projects such as EuReComp, REWIND, SmartFan, Carbo4Power, and Blades2Build.

Moreover, the Carbo4Power Modular Wind Blade was featured at the Innovation Planet as a success story. This 5.8-meter-long blade was developed using cost-effective out-of-autoclave (OoA) processes, including one-shot vacuum infusion and automated fiber placement (AFP) with 3R resins and 3R prepregs. It incorporates carbon fiber, advanced coatings, a 3D-printed bladelet, and sensors for PHM (Prognostics and Health Management) and SHM (Structural Health Monitoring). Its modular design reduces waste and cost while enhancing performance, enabling the scaling of the IEA 15MW turbine to 1:20.
