BEALIVE Kickoff Meeting

R-NanoLab is a part of the groundbreaking BeAlive project, funded by the EIC Pathfinder Programme. The Kick-off meeting, hosted by the Institute of Fluid Mechanics in Toulouse on 15-16 January, marked the beginning of the project.

BeAlive aims to revolutionize aerodynamics by developing a bio-inspired electroactive live skin. This skin, creating a porous medium above solid surfaces and coupled with fluid shearing interfaces in a multiscale design, is set to enhance aerodynamic performance beyond current limits in real-time and full-scale applications.

Within the project R-NanoLab is collaborating with two more NTUA laboratories, MGroup Lab of of Prof. Papadopoulos and Laboratory for Earthquake Engineering of Prof. Friagiadakis.

NTUA’s team will contribute to Work Package 2 (WP2) focusing on the Modeling of isolated carbon inclusions. Particularly, in Task 2.2 – Construction of the piezo-actuator & sensor shell, utilizing AI-4D printing to construct piezo-actuator cells and the wing’s body, incorporating composite films containing carbon-based materials.
