The 17th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece was held at the University of the Aegean in Mytilene, Lesvos, from May 28th to 31st. R-NanoLab contributed to the conference with a presentation titled “Evaluation of Greek Clay for Pottery Applications,” part of a project initiated by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture to revive Greek craftsmanship through the use of traditional raw materials.

Within this project, R-NanoLab is leading the study and assessment of Greek clay, mapping its available reserves across the country and evaluating its quality. This work forms part of a broader initiative to preserve and promote traditional techniques such as ceramics, while also encouraging sustainability and supporting local economies. Funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, this project represents a significant step toward revitalizing Greece’s cultural heritage and fostering innovation in traditional crafts.
