Multifilament line CMF 100 consists of a twin screw extruder with die head spinneret and take-up system of five rollers. The twin screw extruder consists of nine totally heating zones, including the die head zone. On the die head a spinneret is adjusted and the polymer material exits the extruder in the form of filaments.
Screws are built up from nitride steel and constitute separate elements with different pitches, lengths and different designs (e.g. closely intermeshing, with open flights or kneading and mixing elements). Therefore, screw geometry can be adapted to various types of processes. Screw elements are assembled on a screw shaft, one for each screw. The diameter and length of the screw are 25mm and 24D respectively.
Spin fibers are extruded downwards into the vertical cooling tunnel. A laminar flow of cooling air is achieved by a multilayer air rectifier. Maximum length is 800mm. A separate centrifugal blower is controlled by a frequency inverter to allow velocity control. Air quench cabinet is mounted on a moveable frame and adjusted to the spin fiber take-off.
Spin fiber take off is designed as “ready-to-operate” unit mounted on pivotal roller castors. The basic frame comprises the four draw rolls, the twisting station, the winder as well as the electric cabinet, the control panel and the cooling air blower. All functional elements are mounted in an appropriate height for convenient access resp. guiding the fibers through the whole unit for start-up. The process area is covered by swivel-mounted safety housing for vertical opening. An acrylic cover window protects the operator during full production speed of the unit.
