A hybrid manufacturing production line, combining extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing and inkjet printing with micro-machining and laser processing, in an integrated, fully digital, modular pilot line. This integrated approach allows to link flexible micro-fabrication and multi-material integration. This hybrid manufacturing process enables the fabrication of high aspect ratio features on polymer substrates with high accuracy and repeatability, while conductive functional components of microstructured carbon-based electrodes and precise deposition of functional coatings are incorporated by inkjet printing technology with pico-litre dispensing capabilities. The M3DLoC pilot line agile manufacturing infrastructure is capable of integrating different functionalities, materials and processes, to create customized solutions, allowing to accelerate the transition from low volume demonstrator runs to pilot scale automated batch production.
