The Antimicrobial Unit was formed in 2022 for the biological activities of R-Nano Lab, evaluating antimicrobial properties of nanomaterials, surfaces, food packaging, textiles, and plant extracts by using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The good laboratory practices perform the 5I’s of the microbiology lab: inoculation; the introduction of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) into the medium, incubation; growing the bacteria, isolation, inspection for morphological characterization and identification of the bacteria with unique properties i.e resistant to antimicrobial surfaces.
