Dr. Panagiotis Kavouras

PHYSICS, RESEARCH INTEGRITY

Dr. Panagiotis Kavouras is a Physicist, with an MSc in Materials Science and Technology and a PhD in Physics focused on Technology of Materials. For several years he had been involved in research on industrial solid waste management and on characterization of physical and mechanical properties at the micro- and nano-scale. During the last several years he has focused his research interests on research on Research Integrity, through his participation in several EU-funded projects (in the context of Science with and for Society (SwafS) of H2020 and Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) of Horizon Europe). 

He is the author of 51 published papers (47 ISI), 3 book chapters, 1 textbook. His work has received more than 800 citations (excluding self-citations). His h-index is 12 (according to Scopus) and 16 (according to Google Scholar). He has participated in 80 scientific conferences and workshops. 

Dr. Panagiotis Kavouras is a member of the Local Organising Committee of the 8th World Conference on Research Integrity, member of the Programme Committee for the ENRIO2021 and ENRIO2023 Congress on Research Integrity Practice, member of the Editorial Board of the Research Integrity Practice in Europe (RIPE) bulletin, and he was the national country correspondent for Greece for the SUPER-MoRRI project. Dr. Panagiotis Kavouras is involved in capacity-building and awareness-raising activities for Research Integrity in Greece and he communicates Research Integrity and Research Ethics to the public through a Greek science magazine.
