Dimitris Koulos

Researcher | Philosophy

 

Dimitris Koulos studied Philosophy and Social Sciences at the University of Crete (Rethymno). He subsequently completed a Master’s degree at the Technical University of Crete (Chania) in Social Sciences, specialising in social theory and the political economy of labour, technology, and the environment, graduating with distinction. He went on to pursue a PhD at the School of Production Engineering and Management (Technical University of Crete) with a dissertation entitled “Labour, Technology and Subject: Automation of Production and Forms of Labour Organisation” (pending defence).

As a PhD candidate, he has participated in several international conferences, presenting aspects of his ongoing research. His work focuses on the specificities of scientific and creative labour and the role of the subject engaged in such labour in relation to technical and technological transformations.
As a member of RNano, his main research interests include research ethics and integrity, the ethics of emerging technologies, the green transition, and the relationship between science and societal values, with a particular emphasis on the social dimensions of new technologies.
